December 1999 - Merry Christmas Everybody!

Well, it's that time of year again. Y'know, when you get so busy shopping and decorating and banquets and baking that by the time Christmas comes, you've forgotten what it's all about! Actually, my husband Randy doesn't do ANY of the things I just mentioned. He just sits back and enjoy all MY hardwork! It sort of reminds me of the story of Martha and Mary. Martha (that would be me) gets very perturbed at Mary (that would be Randy) for not helping her prepare for Jesus and yet it's Mary that basks in the presence of God. My wish for you and me this season, is that we can stop and take a deep breath and glory in the fact that we celebrate our salvation this season. How marvelous our God is! I cherish Him.

This fall has been a very busy for me. A highlights was my Toronto visit. It was great to be back at 100 Huntley Street and see once again how God is using that television program to touch the hearts of so many. If you ever travel to Toronto, I recommend highly a visit to their facility in Burlington called Crossroads Communications. You walk into the foyer, and you can sense the presence of the Lord immediately. I always feel refreshed after being there! I also had the opportunity to minister at Islington Chapel in Islington and People's Church in Toronto. It was exciting to see the ethnic diversity in these two churches. I love worshipping with other ethnic groups because for me it's a glimpse of what heaven will be like!

This Christmas I am singing at a number of local banquets as well as guest soloist with Dianne White at South Delta Baptist this coming weekend (10-12th). This New Year's Eve, I am leading worship at a city wide Praise and Prayer Rally to bring in the New Year. It will be held at 7Oaks Alliance Church here in Abbotsford, B.C.. I believe that God is bringing our city, as well as cities around this nation and the world into unity through His Spirit. The coming year 2000 is a time for us to break dividing walls of denomination, gender and ethnic background and just worship JESUS together!

So again I wish you a blessed Christmas. May the bright Star that is Jesus, shine His light on you this season and may you know the fullness of His love for you!

Blessings Lianna
