January 2005 - Greetings again, Friend Traveler!

It’s been an eventful past year and I can hardly believe that we’re on to a new one! I pray that this New Year finds you well and hopeful.

I have felt a great sadness in the wake of the tsunami that hit Asia at the end of December…you can actually feel the pain in the airwaves and I’m reminded that God sees the big picture, even when it doesn’t make sense to us. Puts “stuff” into perspective, I think….

In this newsletter, I’m going to share some “old” news as well as new and what God’s been doing in these last months on my journey. Thanks again to all of you who have supported and prayed for me…I so appreciate your emails of encouragement!

Out of Borderland CD

I hope all of you that pre-ordered your CD have received it and I hope you’re enjoying it. I have received many emails from you and you’ve all been very encouraging! In fact, this month, I will be adding a short film clip on my website of one of my youngest fans!

The charted songs will be added to the songbook in spring, so keep checking my website as to when this will be available.

The CD is now available across Canada in Christian Bookstores and it’s actually a great time to get it…GREAT sale prices!

Sign Up Winner!

Congratulations to John Yates of Katy, Texas who is the most recent winner of the free CD pack for signing up! Remember, let friends know about the sign up and who knows, they might win and give you one!

Song for Canada DVD

“Song for Canada” is now available on DVD and the bonus is, there’s also a back up track, so if you want to sing it yourself or a choir in your church would like to perform it, you have that option with the DVD….pretty cool, eh?!? It’s available on my website as of January 6 th, 2005.

Shipping Rates

I’m afraid that Canada Post is upping the rates of postage again this month, and so I will have to raise the shipping costs to reflect this. Foreign and US orders will also be affected by this.

Norway

At the end of November, I had the privilege of going to Norway to work with a number of Vineyard churches there. It was such an amazing time of meeting new kindred spirits and seeing this wonderful call that is on Norway…they truly are adventurers! I took my youngest son Adam with me, and he helped play bass in a couple of the worship sets. We were in the city of Aaelsund and the town of Sykelvyn and the first day there, it snowed and kept snowing for 2 days. About 2½ feet of snow fell, and it looked like something out of the Narnia books (y’know, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe)! It was beautiful until it started raining 3 days later and then it was really slushy and yucky…..what could I do….I just HAD to stay at the malls and shop.

My daughter is attending YWAM in Aalesund and so it was an added bonus to see her and spend some time together. I led worship, taught classes and did concerts. I found the people so ready to hear what God had laid on my heart and I was so impressed with the passion of the youth. I believe God is also networking intercessors in this nation to strategically pray for the Nordic countries. I believe that He is also raising up women into their leadership destiny and so I feel there’s change in the “air”. Oh, and Norway also has the best chocolate that I’ve ever tasted! (Well, Swiss is up there too!).

Upcoming Events

This year, at the end of January, I am back at Breakforth in Edmonton as a worship leader, presenter and artist. It’s a great privilege to be able to lead worship with Philip Yancey on Sunday morning. There are over 7,000 registered for Breakforth, and hopefully some of you will be there. Please feel free to come and talk with me, if there’s a chance. I’m also hoping to return to Northern Ireland sometime this year, but that is still tentative. To get a better overview of my schedule, just check out my website on the schedule page…I try to keep it up to date regularly.

Family Stuff

It’s been a quiet fall in our home because our daughter left at the end of August for YWAM Norway and won’t be back until the end of May. She’s going to India for her outreach and also doing a 2 week prayer walk through the Himalayan mountains in that period. I’m trying not to be a typical mother and “freak out”….I’m trying very hard to trust God on this one…but it’s still pretty scary! She went to Northern Ireland for Christmas, and spent it with our dear friends there, who made her most welcome. Our oldest son Jordan just finished his first CD with his band SubRosa. They will be doing their concert release in Abbotsford this January. I’m very proud of him that he has seized the day… “Carpe Diem”! Adam had a great time in Norway and has the travel itch now. Who knows where God will take him on his pilgrim’s progress. And finally, Randy is well and happy.

My prayer for all of you this year, is that Jesus will be your best friend. Some of you are “wrestling” with God as Jacob did, and maybe some of you will continue this journey with a limp. But my prayer for you is that, you don’t stop wrestling until it’s finished and God has shown you victory. Persevere, fellow traveler.

Blessings to all of you

Lianna
