January 2008 - Hello friends!

When God is going to do something wonderful, He begins with a difficulty.... When He is going to do something miraculous, He begins with an impossibility.
~ Charles Inwood

Isn't it amazing? God is the One who takes an impossibility and makes it possible... He's the One that turns our mourning into dancing! If I could just grasp that truth, life and living would not seem so overwhelming.....and life is overwhelming sometimes, isn't it!?
Well...I hope all of you have been well in your journey over the last few months since I last sent out my newsletter. I hope you've seen difficulties turned into something wonderful. For me, it's been a difficult transition seeing my kids fly the nest these last 2 years but my "wonderful" is seeing that they're doing just fine without me. Another "wonderful" for me is that my daughter is getting married in July after getting engaged this Christmas!

And so the journey continues....

GIRL'S NIGHT OUT TOUR WITH WORLD VISION

This last October, I went to the Maritimes of Canada with World Vision and their Girl's Night Out Event. It was so GREAT to finally tour the part of Canada that I've always wanted to connect with. And to work with World Vision was such an honor. I was so impressed with how well the run and organize their events and how passionate their people are about the kids. In fact, I've signed on to be one of their artists because I think what they're doing is really making a difference in the third world. Almost every penny that comes in through World Vision, goes to the kids and their villages and that's what impressed me the most. If you're interested in hosting a Girl's Night Out event in your city or church, you can go online to see what they're about at www.gnolive.ca

U.K. and GERMANY

In September, I was back in Northern Ireland but I also went to Scotland for the first time where we did 2 concerts. What a beautiful country.....so different than N.Ireland and yet just as beautiful! I so enjoyed being back with my friends in Bangor and Belfast (where we did 2 worship seminars besides concerts), but it was also wonderful to "expand" the ministry and go to a new country. I brought my guitarist Aron Loewen and his wife Frances who runs my sound and teaches on it as well. The response was such that we are back again in October for a 10 day tour in Scotland and also Newtownards in N.Ireland where we will be doing a worship conference. If you are interested in specifics about where we will be and dates, just contact me at lianna@liannaklassen.com .

I will also be in Germany again this coming May and we're working on a few dates in Switzerland as well. The tour is really full this year...I'm SO excited about it! Besides Aron and Frances coming with me, my fiddle guy Marty Gray is coming for part of the tour! We're going all over Germany, not just the south, which is a first for me. We also will be performing in both Protestant and Catholic churches .....isn't that awesome!?!? I LOVE the way God brings it all together....with a little help from the tour organizer, Frank Binder.

GOSPEL MUSIC AWARD NOMINATIONS!

This fall, my latest CD "The Guest" was nominated for 5 awards, including Best Album of the Year. It was thrilling to be recognized as I'm really proud of this new CD. And no....I didn't win any of the awards.....and I know I should say it still was an honor to be nominated.....but to be truthful, it REALLY sucked not to win! That little pride button of mine got pushed a bit...well, a lot...but I was OK after a day or two. And in the end, I'm still really proud of this CD and what I accomplished artistically. If you've not heard it yet, you can listen to samples on my website to get a feel for it. Oh...and thank you to all of you who voted for me for Fan Choice of the Year.
