hope that you've had a great spring! I've been so busy and so much has happened since my last newsletter that it's hard to know where to begin (maybe this is a good lesson in not waiting too long between letters!).
March 2000 was a month that Randy and I will remember the rest of our lives as a highlight because all 3 of our children decided to be baptized. The church our family attends treats baptism very intimately and so besides giving their testimonies, my kids got to choose someone they would like to baptize them along with the pastor. I had the priviledge of baptizing my daughter and my husband baptized our eldest son. Our youngest son Adam decided right there and then that he wanted to be baptized also! He shared how the Lord had awakened him to worship last summer and that all he wanted to do was to worship Jesus. Both my husband and I held his hands as he was baptized and then each of the children were prayed over by family and friends after they came out of the water. Needless to say, there were many tears and the presence of God was strong in that place! How truly thankful I am that my children want to walk with God and I don't take it for granted.
In May, God began to lay on my heart a desire to write a song or prayer for Canada. I was on my way to Prince Edward Island to lead worship at a Women's Conference. I sensed the Lord tell me that when I arrived there, I was to put my foot in the Atlantic as a symbol of unity West to East and then He would give me a song. The next day, as I sat in my cottage looking out at the waters, the "Song for Canada" began to grow. I finished it 2 days before I left to lead worship at a Leadership Summit in Eagle's Nest,(close to Medicine Hat, Alberta). I sang the song on the second night of the conference, and again on the next evening. Sometimes God gives a song to a songwriter and all that songwriter is, is a steward of what God wants to impart through lyrics and melody. That's what I feel about this song because it's an intercessory song of healing for this nation and maybe other nations. Within a week of "birthing" this song at Eagle's Nest, I received a number of calls from leadership across Canada who heard about it. Last week I recorded Song for Canada and taped a video that will be played on July 1st on 100 Huntley Street from the Canadian Pavilion at Expo in Germany. If you happen to see it on that day, please join with me in prayer for healing and unity for our nation. We're hoping to get this song out as quickly as possible and it will be available as a single hopefully by June 23,00. If you're interested in purchasing this song, it will be available for $6.00 plus shipping through Truthworks at 1-877-275-3963.
Well, that's it for now. There's a bit more "stuff" happening which I will let you know as things finalize. Also, I ALWAYS love to hear from you, fellow pilgrim, so please don't hesitate to email or write me with suggestions for this newsletter or website.
Blessings and many Cheers!
Lianna
