salm 33 says Let the godly sing with joy to the Lord, for it is fitting to praise Him. Praise the lord with melodies on the lyre; make music for Him on the ten-stringed harp. Sing NEW songs of praise to Him; play skillfully on the harp and sing with joy! God IS giving new songs to His people that bring them into unity of purpose!
How exciting it's been in the last couple of months to find kindred spirits not only here in Canada, but abroad. This summer I traveled to England with my family (God graciously provided so that my husband Randy and our 3 kids could come along) and had an amazing time. I was leading worship at a conference in Detling, which is just outside of Maidstone in the county of Kent. Kent is one of the oldest parts of England and we got to spend a day in Canterbury. As I entered the Cathedral at Canterbury that dates back to the 8th century (well, at least parts of it do....a beam here, a pillar there!), I was overwhelmed by a sense of God's presence. This cathedral was built to the honor and glory of God and as I wandered the building, it was as if He had been there, and I could still sense His aroma in the air! I was deeply moved and inspired and I understand why Brian Doerksen was moved to write "Come, Now Is The Time To Worship" after walking through another famous Cathedral.
The conference at Detling was great fun! I got to know so many wonderful people of God and met some lifetime friends. Debbie and John Phillips were there from America, and they shared about their niece Rachel who was one of the first murdered in the Columbine High School murders for her faith. Paul Bennison who travels around the world with YWAM and has a ministry of healing. He shared with the youth about signs and wonders and what God is doing around the world. My kids came back from that evening pumped about who God is! Arnold Muwonge, who is originally from Uganda, but now based out of England, shared about what God is doing in his homeland. If you've seen Transformation II video, you'll have heard about what has changed in that land since they began to seriously intercede and travail.
Arnold has also asked me to come to Uganda in January to lead worship at a Prayer and Intercession conference which is attended by people from all over the world! I'm so excited and honored about being asked to go! We also got to know Russ and Leanda Hughes very well (we, 5 of us, stayed with them and their 4 children, in a British semi-detached house....they REALLY got to know us!). Russ is a worship leader in his church at St. Luke's Anglican and also has an itinerant ministry. You can get the CD from Detling by emailing them admin@revivalfire.org.uk or logging onto their website at http://www.revivalfire.org.uk
Another highlight was working with James Ryle again and getting to spend time with him and his wife Belinda. They're just awesome people and Belinda is an intercessor, so we connected right away. We also met their daughter Anna who works with Jackie Pullinger in the inner city in Hong Kong....she's a perfect mix of both her mom and dad! England definitely stole a piece of my heart and I pray that God opens the door for me to go back very soon! I'm stopping there on my way to Uganda, but it's going to be too short.
Well, that's a little bit of what's been happening. I've got a very busy fall schedule (check my schedule page) and next year is starting to fill up very quickly. I'm also planning on making a Christmas CD next year and would appreciate your prayers because I don't want this to be a frivolous album, but one that leads people into worship. Also, I would SO appreciate your prayers about Uganda. I think I'm going to be stretched right out of my comfort zone, but it's going to be awfully good for me!
Bless you, and again, please do not hesitate to contact me if you've got questions or comments, about the website or anything else.
Psalm 33 ends with In Him our hearts rejoice, for we are trusting in His Holy name. Let Your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in You alone.
Cheers
Lianna
