Being creative is not just something I do, but an integral part of who I am, whether it is music or visual art. I have always been drawn to colour and texture, and the use of different mediums. I love experimenting with light interacting with dark, colour against colour. The best moments are when something unexpected happens and takes the work from ordinary to extraordinary without forethought or planning. I take great pleasure in painting reality in a way that makes it obscure, so as to surprise the observer when they find out what the inspiration is behind the painting. That “A-ha!” moment fills me with satisfaction because it encourages the observer to see the object/theme of my art in a brand new way. For me, my art is putting my emotions, feelings, experiences, and memories on canvas as a cathartic and therapeutic process that will hopefully impact and resonate with others.
